General policy Except where required by law or otherwise stated at the time of purchase, all sales are final unless we agree that an item is eligible for return under this policy.
Eligible non-custom items may be considered for return if:
you contact us within 7 days of delivery or pickup
the item is returned within 14 days of delivery or pickup
the item is unused, unassembled, and in original condition
the item is returned with original packaging, tags, manuals, and proof of purchase
Approved returns may be refunded to the original payment method or issued as store credit, at our discretion, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
Non-returnable items The following items are not eligible for return or exchange unless they arrive damaged, defective, or not as ordered:
opened or used candles, diffusers, fragrance products, body products, and similar personal-use items
gift baskets and perishable or consumable items
gift cards
clearance, final sale, or marked-down final sale items
custom, made-to-order, special-order, or personalized items
items that have been used, installed, altered, or damaged after delivery
items returned without original packaging where packaging is reasonably required for safe return
Damaged, defective, or incorrect items If your item arrives damaged, defective, or incorrect, please contact us within 48 hours of delivery or pickup at info@thehome.ca with:

a description of the issue
clear photos of the item, packaging, and shipping label
If we confirm the issue, we may offer a replacement, repair, store credit, or refund, depending on the circumstances and your legal rights.
Return shipping and fees Unless the return is due to our error or a verified defect, you are responsible for return shipping, delivery, handling, and insurance costs.
For oversized, heavy, or furniture items, we may deduct reasonable pickup, redelivery, handling, or restocking costs from any approved refund where permitted by law.
Original shipping, delivery, white-glove, assembly, and handling charges are non-refundable unless required by law or the return is due to our error.
Refused deliveries and failed deliveries If a shipment is refused without prior approval, is undeliverable because of incorrect information provided by the customer, or cannot be completed because no one is available to receive it where required, any additional shipping, storage, return, or handling costs may be deducted from any approved refund.
Order cancellations We may accept cancellation requests before an order has been processed, shipped, scheduled, or put into production. Once an order has been processed, shipped, specially ordered, or custom-made, cancellation may not be possible.
If a cancellation is accepted, any non-recoverable third-party charges, special-order costs, or processing fees already incurred may be deducted where permitted by law.
Delivery delays and consumer rights If a promised delivery date applies and delivery is not made within the time required by applicable law, you may have cancellation or refund rights under consumer protection law. For Ontario internet agreements, additional cancellation rights may apply in certain circumstances, including where required disclosures or a copy of the agreement were not properly provided.

Do not send items back without return approval and instructions.
Processing refunds If a refund is approved, we will process it to the original payment method unless otherwise required by law or agreed in writing. Timing may vary depending on the payment provider and financial institution.
In-store purchases For in-store purchases, refunds, exchanges, or store credit are subject to this policy unless a different policy was clearly disclosed at the time of sale.
